Para-Educator (Bilingual) - non-continuing *UPDATED

Wenatchee High School  

8 hours per day (remainder of the 2023-24 school year)

Salary:  $18.80-21.11 per hour

                                                         

DESCRIPTION:  Work under the direction of a certificated staff member to provide specialized intervention instructions and language support for bilingual identified students.  Coordinate and collaborate with program staff and teachers to deliver services.  Attend in-service trainings and meetings as appropriate.  Assist with language testing of students.  Other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum AA degree or equivalent or a passed PRAXIS test required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Must pass a bilingual exam after hire. Will receive a bilingual stipend of $0.65 per hour after successful completion of bilingual exam. Experience working with high school students preferred.  Technology knowledge and ability is crucial.  Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and oral directions are needed.  Ability to work as a team player; ability to take input from other members of the team as well as share insights that may enhance the students program.  Must be patient, flexible, self-motivated, possess positive social skills, and have a calm personality.  The ability to relate well to students, parents, and staff is necessary.  May require prolonged sitting or standing.  Attendance and punctuality are important.

220 - 259 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 3 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

260 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.

Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
