6.0 hours per day (remainder of the 2023-24 school year)

Salary:  $20.06 - $22.38 per hour

DESCRIPTION:  Assist the Special Education instructor in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social and intellectual development of students. Provide educational services to students in the special education program. This position may require one-on-one or resource room support.  Other related duties as assigned. ** Building locations subject to change based on student support needs. **

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum AA degree or equivalent or passed PRAXIS test required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Ability to make good decisions. Patient, flexible, self-motivated, good communication, teamwork, academic skills and positive social skills and a sense of humor. Ability to relate well to students, parents and staff.  May require lifting, prolonged sitting or standing.  Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.  

 

SCHEDULE:  OPEN UNTIL FILLED.

BENEFITS:  Health insurance benefits for employees working 630 hours or more per year include medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability plans through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). 180 - 219 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

220 - 259 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 10 days of sick leave, 3 personal leave days and 11 holidays.

260 Day Employees - Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave, 2 personal leave days, 14 holidays and 12 vacation days.

Tuition reimbursement, 50% up to $450 per year for qualified expenses.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI.  Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
